So.

Anyone, know any good ways to get out slumps in rp?

I'm so fucking stuck right now, and like, I want to do things, but I just can't bring myself too ;___; The thought of dropping every game I have and just disappearing has crossed my mind a few times, but I love all my bbs too much so I could never do that to you guys ever *Cradles* I've tried going in the dressing room and threading around but I generally end up dropping the threads, which...is what I've been doing in all of my rps 8( *punches self out a window*

So please. Take this time to use this as a critique thread for me. I know I need to thread more, I just....idk. Maybe that's why I'm really down. We haven't had an HMD in AT for months. And no one uses personal crit posts. so yea 8( go for it.

Anon is on. IP logging off. all that good stuff. comments will be screened by request

Take a break from it for a while? Do what you feel is easier to tag first and then work your way up the list. Sometimes it helps if you're talking with the person that you're tagging with, that way you can ask questions right there and get an immediate response instead of asking it in an ooc note at the end of the tag and wait for a response.

And if you're not interested in anything anymore it's best to just leave it be instead of poking at it with a stick trying to see if it'll live any longer ^^; Though, it'd probably help some to tell whoever you were doing something with and apologize instead of leaving them hanging ^^;

And... I'd ask the mods at AT about another HMD.

There's going to be an HMD after this event Seiko says.

But really! Just thread with me more, I swear it'll be fine and like... you don't have to worry about being nervous because it's me. Or I could even set up a musebox for us if you just want to get your groove back.

ilu bb don't worry too much, it's just in your head.

Unfortunately, AT HMD has proven to be rarely productive, anyway. :|

And, to be honest, the activity level hasn't been efficient enough to warrant a gamewide HMD because there really hasn't been enough for people to properly judge, which only encourages the useless comments that people aren't looking for. I see you already recognize that (too lazy to delete now though baaww), and I mean, gamewide HMD every month was actually pretty unheard of as far as I knew (games like Poly would only do HMD every 6 months for example), so I felt doing it every month was overdoing it to begin with for such a small game. And when people come to me like "I want an HMD thread so I can tell people how awesome they are" I really don't want to put up an HMD thread because I don't feel like that's the point of an HMD thread. You guys want honest feedback, and people just being like "ilu you're awesome" isn't enough a lot of times, and when you're feeling you really need the crit, sometimes that "positive" reinforcement might as well not be there at all because it just somehow makes it worse. 8(

Stop trying so hard. It's supposed to be fun. I get into RP slumps all the time. You just gotta take a step back and ask yourself why you're having the slump. Are you bored? Frustrated with yourself? With others? Sometimes your rping/writing/etc. is a result of outside issues that you don't focus on because you see it as a problem with yourself (since that is the end result).

I know personally that even when I'm having issues with others or whatever, it always reflects in my characterization and/or my writing. Particularly with Caim, probably because he's an OC so his mood is much more flighty and I have less of a grasp on what it should be. Seriously, you know how much I love him, but there are times I want to dump him and I regret ever introducing him.

It's natural, bb. Just understand that. And if you need a break, take a break. It's better to do that than beat a dead horse, as your friend above already said.

I'm trying to get over my slump by applying for a new character to reconnect with AT. I was on hiatus for so long that I don't know anyone/what's going on anymore... So I'm picking up a new character to sort of "start again" and then slide my existing characters back in once I'm all up to speed.

Don't know if that'll help you, bb. But it's going okay for me so far.

I think you should do what hoshi3 said? Don't force it, and if you feel you need to stop it all for a bit, do it. You can always take a long hiatus and take time to decide if there IS stuff you want to drop and what you wish to keep. It's hard to leave a game you got attached to but if you're not longer interesting there's no point in sticking around >: Stick to what you are comfortable with, if there's anything, and otherwise take a little break. No one will hate you for it <3

I'd have to agree with hoshi3 on this one, taking a break but do something fun with RPing, maybe it's something you've been wanting to do for awhile, just anything your heart desires. But don't just make it a one time thing, keep going with it! ♥

Only reason I say that is because whatever it is thats happened has made RP feel more like a workload for you than it being fun.

Cut the fat. I know you already have been a bit, but that's the first thing. Get done to a core you can focus on, pull yourself back. It's better to play 2-3 characters you can sink you're teeth into, then trying to keep up 15 you...can't, and just get frsutrated and feel shitty about. not that I should talk right now...

I also know making lists helps me. And also, just...sometimes forcing out a few posts, even if you think they're shitty, just to get back into the groove. You know you can bounce some silly fluff stuff off me, just to goof off and get posting again. Hell, we could do some one liner back and forth BS. Find something that's a guilty pleasure you wanna indulge in with someone that's the RP equivalent of a twinkie.
